The Knowledge Network on Climate Assemblies (KNOCA) aims to improve the commissioning, design, implementation and impact of climate assemblies, using evidence, knowledge exchange and dialogue. We are an active community of policy makers, practitioners, activists, researchers and other actors with experience and interest in climate assemblies who co-create activities and knowledge.
Workshop on Systems Change
Time
In this workshop, we discussed how citizens' assemblies could address the underlying systemic issues that are central to a truly transformative response to the planet's environmental and social crises.
The discussion drew on the presentation of a draft new guide on this critical topic, authored by Claire Mellier of the Iswe Foundation and Stuart Capstick of the Centre for Climate Change and Social Transformations (CAST). This presentation provided a foundational framework for dialogue exploring innovative approaches and strategies for using citizens' assemblies to address these complex challenges.
