The Knowledge Network on Climate Assemblies (KNOCA) aims to improve the commissioning, design, implementation and impact of climate assemblies, using evidence, knowledge exchange and dialogue. We are an active community of policy makers, practitioners, activists, researchers and other actors with experience and interest in climate assemblies who co-create activities and knowledge.
Citizen Assemblies on Climate from Participants’ and Organizers’ Perspectives
Time
On 8 December 2022, the 21st conference of the International Observatory for Participative Democracy in Grenoble featured two roundtables, organised by KNOCA, Metropole of Grenoble and Res Publica, focusing on citizen assemblies on climate. These panels, held in both French and English, brought together key figures such as Graeme McCormick from Scotland's Climate Assembly and representatives from the Grenoble Metropole Climate Assembly. The discussions centred on the experiences of European local and national assemblies and explored the integration of climate assemblies into the policy-making process. The event provided valuable insights into the role and impact of climate assemblies on participatory democracy.
